Writer and workshop leader

About you

Are you a natural communicator? Are you creative, sharp and able to bring ideas to life – on paper as well as on your feet?

We’re looking for someone to join us as a writer, workshop leader and trainer. Initially this would be on a freelance basis, working from our office in Clerkenwell between 2-4 days a week.  Long term we’re hoping you will join us full time.  So if you’re looking for something with more commitment than ‘freelance’, please read on.

About us

We help our clients get the best out of the words they use so they can compete for market share, for reputation, for employees, for ownership of ideas, for profit, for longevity.  So we touch many areas of a client’s business.

We teach people to write and speak, whether face-to-face or on the phone.  We write marketing copy, we sometimes make videos. We audit how effective a company’s brand tone of voice is, we develop brand messaging and brand language.  We help companies talk to their customers when things go wrong. We help our clients tell better stories.

A lot of what we do is challenging our clients’ thinking: in what way do their products, services and actions matter to their audience?  What does the audience want to know?  How do they want to be treated?  How are they likely to react?

We need somebody who can collaborate as well as work quickly on their own initiative.   We write some long copy, but we spend a great deal of time analysing words, sometimes painstakingly one at a time – so you need to enjoy that process.

Many of our clients are in financial services, so experience there would be an advantage, but not essential.

Designer

We are looking for a visual collaborator who fancies some free desk space in Clerkenwell.

Here’s the deal. You don’t pay for space (nice views) or facilities (printer, good coffee, friendly banter). You work from here 4 or 5 days a week. We work together 8 to 16 hours a week as and when we need you. We’ll agree a rate for the work you do for us.

Language Consultant

Could you change the way a chief executive or a customer service representative thinks about the words they use?

We’re looking for someone who can help us develop our thinking, deliver courses and look for new opportunities to sell what we do. Someone who loves language, is good on their feet and has an entrepreneurial instinct for making things happen.
